When do you dance?

"And David danced before the Lord with all his might; and David was girded with a linen ephod." 2 Samuel 6: 14

"a time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a tim to dance." Ecclesiastes 3: 4

Properly done, liturgical dancing expresses in the moment the deep spiritual essence of one's relationship with God.

Improperly done, dancing can be a distraction to one who is seeking to enter a spiritual relationship.

I have witnessed both modes. However, I must admit, I have witnessed dance properly done, more often than not.

The younger people of our generation express their spirituality through movement. The older of our generation expresses their spirituality through meditation. It is not either/or; it is really both/ and.

Liturgical dance has a place in the menu of worship experiences. It can release the mind, body and spirit to experience a wholesome relationship with God.
