Talk to Your Children

Posted by Unknown Thursday, April 14, 2011

"Tell it to your children, and let your children tell it to their children, and their children to the next generation." Joel 1:3

The first duty of any mother or father is to be a living testimony for your children. It is a bad preacher who does not begin their ministry at home. To teach our children is a personal duty; we cannot delegate it to Sunday School or Public School teachers. These can assist, but not replace the responsibility that parents have to teach their children in the home. Parental teaching is a natural duty - who is fit to look after the child's well being than the ones who brought the child into the world? To neglect to talk to and to train your child is shirking the most important responsibility in the world. Family religion is necessary for the nation, for the family itself and for the church of God. The family is the building block of our society. It is a pleasant duty to talk about God, life and love with your children. It is a parent's time to talk about the goodness of the Lord. Don't talk at, but talk with your children.

  1. Hi Rev. Al. There are no truer words than it is a parent's responsibility to train their children to live a life that God intends for them. I truly believe that this message is worthy of being spread and it's a mission at Trinity church in Delta, PA. We'll have to set up something where you can come to share that message in the future.

  3. Rev. Means: It is good to know that you are carrying forth the ministry at Trinity in Delta, Pa. Serving with you was a blessing during the Penn Ave Days. I pray that God may open up the opportunity for us to share in the future. Peace!
