Can You Handle Plenty?

There was an old song that said, "I've got plenty of nothing and nothing has plenty of me."

So many people have become so used to not enough, that they are not able to handle just enough. In their spirit they can't imagine more than enough. I'm not talking about a prosperity gospel were you name it and claim it. I'm talking about a God who has provided you with plenty.

Can you handle plenty? Plenty is when you have more than you need. Think about it? You have more that one pair of shoes, more than one dress, some have more than one car, and others have more than one house. You have more than one dollar.  If God has allowed you to have more than one, you have plenty.

Read Phillipians 4:12,13 (NIV) "I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. I can do all things through him who gives me strength."

Do you know what it is to have plenty? So many people dwell on the negative. They forget how to praise God for the many positive aspects of life. If you ever learned the divine lesson of being full, you will discover God will provide you with plenty.

We have to develop the spiritual grace of gratitude. Learning how to be grateful for all God has given to you; instead of dwelling on the things you think you don't have. "Rest assured it is harder to know how to have plenty than it is to know how to be in need- so desperate is the tendency of human nature to pride and forgetfulness of God."

Remember to pray for God to teach you how to know what plenty is!
