A Sense of Belonging

Posted by Unknown Sunday, February 17, 2013

There is a deep abiding feeling everyone has which yearns to belong: to belong to a social group, to belong to a religious group, to belong to a business group, and/or to belong to a family group.

This feeling creates a sense of well being, security, status, and affirmation. The human being was not made to be alone. They were made to belong.

Unfortunately there are some relationships to which you belong that instead of boasting your ego, they damage your ego. A destructive belong can be mentally and spiritually brutal.

God designed us in a way for everyone to have the ultimate sense of belonging. God permits us to belong to him in an intimate relationship.

1John 3:1 (NIV) reads "How great is the love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are!

How rewarding it is to know that you and I belong to God who calls us His child.
