Learn to be refreshing

"He who refreshes others will himself be refreshed." Proverbs 11:25

This text teaches us a great lesson, to get, we must give; to accumulate, we must scatter; to make ourselves happy, we must make others happy; and in order to become spiritually vigorous, we must seek the spiritual good of others. In watering others, we are ourselves watered.

Our efforts to be useful bring out our powers for usefulness. We have latent talents and dormant faculties, which are brought to light by exercise.

I have found that by teaching Bible study, I gain a better understanding of scriptures for myself. I have found that by sharing in someone else sorrows, I gain the capacity to handle my own.

It is when you give that you get. That's why the word says, "It is better to give than to receive."

"Give and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap."
