Tha Lamb is The Light

This picture depicts a lamb and a sheep. In biblical terms, Jesus is the Lamb, who was slain, and we are His sheep. The Book of Revelation presents another image of the lamb as a lamp, "The Lamb is its lamp." Revelation 21:23.

This is an important image because light in Scripture is the emblem for joy. What is our joy? Jesus choose us, loved us, bought us, cleansed us, robed us, kept us glorified us and saved us. That's why the joy of the Lord is our strength.

Light is also the cause of beauty. Nothing of beauty is left when the light is gone. Without light a diamond loses its gleam, without light no radiance flashes from a sapphire, and without light the moon has no glow. The Word says that Jesus is the light of the world.

Light manifests. In other words, what it is does not become until it is revealed by the Light. Things remain hidden until light reveals their presence and power. Light manifests transformation. The word says its does not "yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear (light), we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is."
