Stand Firm

"Stand firm and you will see the deliverance the Lord will bring you today." Exodus 14:13

When we find yourself in tough situations or in extraordinary circumstances, these words should give you comfort. You cannot retreat; you cannot go forward; you are struck between a rock and a hard place; what are you going to do? God says, "Stand Firm!"

Don't listen to Despair that says, "Lie down and die, give it all up."

Don't listen to Cowardice that says, "Retreat; go back to the worldly way of doing things, you cannot play the Christian part. It is too difficult. Give up your principles."

Don't listen to Precipitation that says, "Do something, stir yourself; to stand still and wait is idleness." You must do something at once, instead of looking to the Lord.

Don't listen to Presumption that boasts, "Expect a miracle and march on into the sea."

True Faith listens to neither to Presumption, nor to Despair, nor to Cowardice, nor to Precipitation, but it hears God say, "Stand Firm." Become an immovable rock and "Stand Firm."

Keep your posture straight, be ready for action, expect further orders, and if you cheerfully and patiently wait; you will hear God's voice distinctly saying to you, "Go Forward."
