For Healing We Need Praying!

Posted by Unknown Sunday, July 10, 2011

Yesterday was a wonderful day. It began with the distribution and feeding of over 500 families within the State Center Community. It continued with the signing of The Economic Inclusion Plan that will ensure local residents are given first priority in the hiring process for State Center and that MBE's and WBE's get a fair share of the economic benefits that are derived from this project, and its ended with our Church's Annual Picnic in Patapsco State Park.

In the conversations of the day with people from all walks of life, I was reminded of the disconnect of people to the economic, political and spiritual aspects of life. One gentleman told me he was the giant puzzle in life with the inability to put the pieces together. Another gentleman told me he was a college educated, from out of town, living in a shelter, and had a wayward background, but was unable to get any assistance in his attempt to pull himself up. On the other hand, I had persons tell me the wonderful experience, they were having distributing food to people and signing them up to register to vote. Still others told me about the joy they were having sharing in a church picnic among family, friends and believers.

All of these experiences from yesterday, led me to read once again from 2 Chronicles 7: 14, "if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land."
