Economic Inclusion Plan

Posted by Unknown Monday, July 11, 2011

History was made on Saturday, July 9th with the signing of an Economic Inclusion Plan for the State Center Project. Through this plan, we will be able to ensure, monitor and manage the local hiring of residents in Zipcodes 21201, 21202, & 21217 as receiving first priority. We will also make certain that project bids are bundled in amounts that permit MBE/WBE firms to complete. Implicit in all that is being done is persons who are hired and firms that are awarded contracts are local African American firms and indigenous to the Baltimore City community.

Signers to the document are Ms. Caroline Moore, developer, Dr. S. Todd Yeary, Principal CC4CD, and Mr. John Kyle, SCNA.

Standing behind them to ensure that the goals are met: Mayor Stephanie Rawlings Blake, Dr. Alvin C. Hathaway, Sr., and Congressman Elijah E. Cummings.

When the story is told about what was necessary to get to this point, people who are so enamored with the election process will realize that when an organization establishes its position on a matter; true power is causing the political and economic forces to endorse your position.
