A Weak Walk on a Roof Top

"One evening David got up from his bed and walked around on the roof of the palace." 2 Samuel 11:2

How easy it is to let your spiritual guard down? In those moments of weakness is when the evil one shows you that you are never out of the reach of temptation.

A simple stroll on the roof of his palace exposed David to the temptation in his heart for Bathsheba.

Idleness and luxury are Satan's hound dogs who are searching for easy prey. Every one has an Achilles heal - a weakness, a sin spot, and an appeal to one's flesh that is difficult to escape.

It might be an old song sparks a memory. It might be the smell of perfume or cologne that triggers a deep, dark secret. Satan has spent an eternity studying people. He has watched and listened to every thing that has appealed to your mind and heard the words that reveal your inner most thoughts.

It is so easy for a spark to become a blaze. Satan is a powerful foe. It is impossible to defeat him without the grace and protection of God.

Never become secure in your holiness. Never make the mistake of thinking you are beyond the reach of temptation and sin. Always seek the Lord while He may be found and remember to call upon Him while He is near and He will abundantly pardon.
