Showers of Blessings

"I will send down showers in season; there will be showers of blessing." Ezekiel 34:26

Into every life some rain must fall. Can you stand the rain?

Only God can send down showers of rain. It is a needed grace.

What would the ground be without showers?

You may break up the clods of dirt, you may sow your seeds, but what can you do without the rain? The divine blessing of rain is a needed grace.

It is also a generous grace. Your work would be in vain until God sends the generous shower of His salvation. Look closely it doesn't say I will send drops of rain, it says I will send showers of rain. When God gives a blessing, he gives it in such a way that there is not room enough to receive it. Generous grace! A generous grace keeps us humble, makes us prayerful, and moves us to holiness. We cannot live without saturating showers of grace.

A closer reading informs us that God will send down showers in due season. We also need a seasonable grace. Why? Life moves through seasons! What is your season this morning? Is it a season of drought? Is it a season of great heaviness and dark clouds? Then that is the season for showers. Let me close with sharing with you that God's grace will be needed, generous, saturating, and varied.

Let me explain varied. The text says that there will be shower(s), which is plural. Meaning that God will send all kinds of blessings. All of God's blessings go together like a link in a golden chain.

He will send showers of blessings to you.

Can you stand to be blessed?
