"Never will I leave you." Hebrews 13:5

Yesterday, I had the distinct honor of preforming a renewal of vows ceremony of a couple who had been married for 25 years. The ceremony signals to their family, to their friends and to God; that they were sincere in their commitment one to another. In effect they were saying to each other, "never will I leave you."

God's commitment to us is even more sincere. It is stated in Hebrews 13: 5, "Never will I leave you or forsake you." Even though you may experience the change of seasons in your life, it is God who is the constant and the Rock of your salvation. Therefore God's word is true because He has made a covenant with you.

There is nothing you can want, there is nothing you can ask for, there is nothing you can need in time or in eternity, there is nothing living, nothing dying, there is nothing in this world, nothing in the next world, there is nothing now, nothing at the resurrection morning, nothing in heaven which is not contained in this text - "Never will I leave you, never will I forsake you."
