Coach Earl Banks was just inducted into the Black College Football Hall of Fame, Saturday, February 19, 2011 in a ceremony at the Four Season Hotel in Atlanta, Georgia. His wife, Mrs. Essie Banks, is a member of Union Baptist Church. She gave me a copy of the program this evening for my files.

The Black College Football Hall of Fame honors the greatest football players and coaches from Historically Black Colleges and Universities.

Check out the 2011 Class of Inductees: Lem Barney, Jackson State University; Mel Blount, Southern University; Roosevelt "Rosey" Brown, Morgan State University; Willie Davis, Grambling State University;"Bullet" Bob Hayes, Florida A & M University; Joe "Tarzan" Kendall, Kentucky State University; Art Shell, University of Maryland - Eastern Shore; Doug Williams, Grambling State University; Willie Jeffries, South Carolina State University; Collie J. Nicholson, Grambling State University; and our own, Earl Banks, Morgan State University.

We all should be proud of the outstanding commitment Coach Banks and all of these individuals made to excellence.
